Scope of these terms
These terms describe the use of Benchlight's browser tools, field guides, and contact-draft interface. Please read them together with the Privacy Policy. If you cannot use the service consistently with these terms, do not use it. Questions can be directed to [email protected] through the Contact page.
Benchlight provides focused technical helpers and explanations. It does not provide a hosted development environment, a managed security service, a customer-data repository, or a professional certification. The scope of a particular calculation is described on its own page.
Access and availability
The current collection can be used without an account, payment, subscription, or personal API key. Tool logic runs in your browser. The website still needs to deliver its pages and resources; we do not guarantee that every page will be available offline, in every browser, or without interruption.
Tools can have limits on input length, nesting, match count, supported syntax, or execution time. These controls help bound a local operation and may reject an input that another implementation accepts. Read errors and limitations before interpreting a partial or rejected result. Availability of a tool is not a promise of an uptime or support response target.
Responsible use
Use the site for lawful purposes and only with information you are entitled to process. You may use the tools in personal, educational, or professional work, subject to the rights and obligations associated with your inputs and your own systems.
Do not attempt to disrupt the site, gain unauthorized access, interfere with other visitors, impersonate another person in a report, or use the service to violate privacy or intellectual-property rights. Do not submit live credentials or private records in a public example. Do not run generated commands against a system unless you have authorization to do so.
A site-generated draft does not grant permission to access its named destination. Formatting a token, request, selector, or document also does not make its intended use safe or lawful.
Review outputs before relying on them
You are responsible for checking whether an output fits your use case. Preserve important originals, compare the result with an independent expectation, and test changes in the environment where they will be used. A copy or download action is a transfer to your device, not a backup service or confirmation that an output is correct.
In particular:
- JSON syntax and observed sample shapes do not establish an entire API contract.
- JWT decoding does not establish authenticity, authorization, or successful verification.
- Header, environment, SVG, and log checks use limited rules; a quiet report is not a comprehensive security assessment.
- Static HTML checks and a color-pair calculation do not establish whole-site accessibility conformance.
- Commit and release-note drafts do not establish what was tested, merged, or shipped.
- Request snippets are not executed by the site. Review quoting, headers, credentials, method, and destination before using them elsewhere.
Do not use a local result as the sole basis for a decision involving safety, sensitive access, or an irreversible change. The examples demonstrate selected behavior and are not a guarantee covering every possible input.
Your inputs and generated results
You retain the rights you already hold in the material you enter. Using a formatter or comparison tool does not transfer ownership of that material to Benchlight. These terms do not give you rights in someone else's data or remove a confidentiality obligation.
You may copy and use the results you generate for lawful work, subject to any rights or restrictions attached to the underlying material. Tool output can contain text you supplied, third-party names, or excerpts from your input. Review those contents before sharing. The site's local-processing behavior is explained in the Privacy Policy; it should not be extended into an assumption about your clipboard, downloaded files, or email service.
Site content and third-party material
Site text, design, branding, code, and photographs may be protected by copyright or other rights. Public access does not grant a blanket license to reproduce the website or redistribute its article collection. Any applicable software license or third-party material license remains relevant to that material.
Standards, external documentation, photographs, and product names remain associated with their respective authors or rights holders. Article covers include source information in their captions. A citation or brand mention is not a claim of endorsement, ownership, or unrestricted reuse. If you need permission to reuse site material, identify the exact page and intended use in a content-rights inquiry.
Corrections and rights requests
For a technical correction, provide the page, disputed statement or output, a minimal non-sensitive example, and the source or reasoning that supports a change. For a rights concern, identify the work, the exact Benchlight URL, your relationship to the work, and a way to contact you. Do not include unnecessary identity documents or confidential records in an initial message.
A report can lead to a correction, clarification, replacement, or removal after review. Submission does not guarantee a particular outcome or response deadline. Contact-draft checks remain local and do not submit such a report on your behalf.
External services and limitations
External reference links lead to services with their own terms and data practices. Benchlight does not control their availability, changing documentation, or the transactions you choose to make there. The current website does not include an advertising integration or external tool-processing API.
Tools and guides are provided as available, with the limitations stated on their pages. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, complete accuracy, freedom from defects, or suitability for every purpose. Nothing in this page is intended to exclude rights or responsibilities that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
Changes and contact
The workbench, supported checks, and these terms may change as the site develops. Check the current page and tool-specific limitations before using an output in a new workflow. The date above identifies this terms revision; it is not a promise that a third-party resource was updated on the same day.
